Proposed Infrastructure Projects

The project appraisal process aims to identify, and take to pre-feasibility study stage, suitable transport projects that would enhance the development of the MTIN.

In order to support the overall aims of the MTIN, a project at the initial screening stage must comply with the following criteria:

• Level 1 objective: of supporting trade between the MEDA region and the EU or intra-regional MEDA trade
• Level 2 objectives: financial sutainability, modal integration, national industrial objectives, tourism and environmental impact
• Capital cost of the project must exceed the threshold of Eur 20 million (except for equipment-only projects)
