Logistic Centres

Ports are the main and frequently the only transhipment terminals in MEDA countries.

With some significant exceptions, f.i; in dedicated trade centres and on manufacturing / distribution sites, logistic platforms of the European style are very much developed in the majority of MEDA Countries.

Several port, city or industry projects are planning to establish dedicated, specialist or multi-trades logistic zones, which may be opportunities in the MoS perspective.

Detailed studies related to logistic centers in the Meda Reagion are being collected by the Motorways of the Sea Contract as well in close collaboration with the E.I.B. financed logistics project which has recently been launched. The special study will focus on the potential interest for a MEDA network of logistic platforms.

Results from both studies will be published later.
