Output 4: Policy Dialogue

Debate and exchange among the Euro-Mediterranean Partners to define common regional or sub-regional approaches to transport issues through the organisation of conferences, workshops and meetings

Objectives

The Policy Dialogue process aims to establish and reinforce the exchange of ideas and experience among MEDA transport sector decision-makers and with their EU counterparts through conferences, policy workshops, seminars and the meetings of the Euro-Mediterranean Transport Forum and its working groups.

Activities

In support of project events, the Main Contract is in charge of:

• defining the topic and contents, as well as the dates and overall timing of the proposed events/conferences
• preparing the agenda or programme of the events; contacting and inviting hosts, speakers, and participants
• assisting in the preparation of background material, technical documents and reports
• organising the events and ensuring event logistics (event venue, facilities and equipment, travel and accommodation)
• providing technical support to the discussions as required by the MEDA partners
• preparing follow-up documents and disseminating the conclusions and other materials after the event

Other activities include giving assistance to:

• National Counterpart Teams to set up office infrastructure, including IT and communication networks
• specific groups of stakeholders involved in the policy dialogue process (e.g. private sector representatives, sector-based organisations)
