The course on The Preparation and Procurement of Infrastructure Projects Financed by International Financing Institutions was held in Istanbul, Turkey from 29 May to 2 June 2006. It comprised four days of teaching and a half day site visit.

The purpose of this course was to enable participants to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for the preparation and implementation of projects that are intended to be co-financed by International Financing Institutions (IFIs), with special focus on investment projects related to the development and upgrading of transport infrastructure. The course demonstrated how improved project identification and formulation can improve delivery and reduce the tasks and time required for effective monitoring and evaluation.
