A group of officials from MEDA countries visited a selected number of international organisations, national administrations, governmental agencies and sector-based associations in Germany, Belgium and France.

The Study Tour intends to provide factual information to participants on institutional arrangements, organisational options, policy and legislative frameworks, and technological applications in selected EU Member States with direct implications on the effectiveness and efficiency of international ATM / ATC, Aviation Safety and Security.

It intends to steer them through a series of presentations, site visits and moderated discussions to develop a clear understanding of the issues involved, the solutions adopted, the experience gained and the future actions contemplated by authorities and organisations. This will enable the participants to systematise and evaluate
contemporary experience on how to plan, organise, and maintain a modernised and safe air transport sector.

Specifically, each visit entails:

• Briefing on the site to be visited, the organisation(s) involved, and the issues to be examined
• Site visit
• Questions-answers, discussions in situ with public and private entities, and moderated exchanged of experience
• Debriefing, structured discussion and conclusions
• Distribution of proper documentation
