Summary:The training seminar on port reform took place in Marseilles, France, on 26-30 September 2005. The event brought together key officials from EU and MEDA ports, the World Bank and the Port of Marseilles.
The training seminar provided an overview of actions, tools and current experience for implementing port reform and restructuring in the Euro-Mediterranean area.
The aims of the seminar were:  | to highlight the requirements for improving the efficiency of port functions and operations, and;
|  | to raise awareness on the methods and practices for establishing port reform strategies. |
Presentations were given by project experts, EU and MEDA officials, representatives of international organisations, and senior executives from the public and private sectors.
The seminar included case studies, exercises and debates to develop the exchange of know-how on port reform issues and on the steps needed to enhance institutional frameworks and management practices in ports. Photo Gallery:
