Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Dates: 27-28/09/2005

Key documents:
Programme (457Kb)

Summary:

This conference dealt with new rail infrastructure and service development projects in North Africa and the Middle East. It enabled experts in this field to gain an overview of the various urban and inter-urban rail network development and renovation strategies for this region and offered a comprehensive review of the opportunities emerging in the regional rail sector in 2004 and beyond.

This event has been addressed by several high-level speakers in charge of implementing major railway schemes in the region. Ralf Kaltheier, Project Director, took part in the meeting as a key speaker and delivered a presentation on the implications of the Euromed Transport Project for rail systems during a session on regional level rail projects.

The participation of the Euromed Transport Project in this conference is carried out in the framework of the promotion and communication activities and, in particular, the communication efforts aimed at private sector operators as part of events organised by external third parties, as foreseen in the project terms of reference.
