National Coordinator Fiche:

Arwa Al-Hyari’s impressive CV speaks for itself – the holder of a Masters in Transport Engineering, she has been involved in EuroMed since 2003. Her work domains include transport policies, specialised transport studies and European Commission transport projects, while transport infrastructures design, feasibility studies and transport planning number among her areas of greater expertise.

Fluent in Arabic, English and French, her previous achievements include the restructuring of Jordan civil aviation authorities, the expansion of Queen Alia International Airport and setting up a national committee for transport-trade facilitation.

Involvement and experience of Jordan within the project ?
Jordan is a very active member in all of the initiatives and projects launched by the European Commission and we are participating regularly and very strongly in the activities of the EuroMed Transport Project... Video [wmv] (3Mb)

Best lessons learned with the project ?
Mainly we have in aviation the Queen Alia International Airport rehabilitation and expansion project. This project aims to upgrade and develop Queen Alia International Airport which is the main gate in Jordan up to the international best practices ... Video [wmv] (3Mb)

Current projects related to transport policy reform or 
to transport infrastructure improvement ?
The EuroMed Transport Project is contributing positively in developing the Euro-Mediterranean transport network which will eventually add a value to strengthening the economics of the region... Video [wmv] (3Mb)
