Mr Talaat Aydin Director General of Land Transport Ministry of Transport
With EuroMed since 2003, Turkey’s National Coordinator Talaat Aydin brings a wide-ranging expertise in engineering, public administration and land-transport experience to bear on his role. Fluent in English, Aydin holds an Msc and Master’s degree in Public Administration, and is an expert in road transport market regulation, public-sector privatization and railway transport. Previously, he has been director-general of land transport in the Turkish ministry and a member of the management board and acting director-general of Turkish railways. He was also instrumental in regulating his country’s road transport sector in line with EU standards, the privatization of Turkish telecoms and the implementation of large-scale projects such as Ankara-Istanbul high-speed railway.
