____________________________________________________

In the 1999-2002 period, the Euromed Transport Forum decided to establish 5 working groups (WGs) to address a number of specialised transport issues:

WG Air Transport

WG GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System EGNOS / Galileo)

WG Maritime Transport
      WG Maritime Policy, Ports and Short Sea Shipping (sub-group)
      WG Maritime Safety (sub-group)

WG Network and Infrastructure

WG Research and Development (no longer operational)

The WG meetings are technical meetings which bring together officials from each of the EU and MEDA countries specialised in the sectors and issues at stake, as well designated experts and officials from the European Commission and other relevant organisations.

The WG meetings are organised by the European Commission who acts as secretariat for the Forum and its WGs. Attendance is by invitation only.

The main purposes of the WG meetings are:

  • to examine progress and future planning on specific transport issues;
  • to enable discussions on these issues during the project implementation phase.
