EuroMed Transport Forums

The Euro-Mediterranean Transport Forum (ETF) meetings are a privileged occasion for discussion and exchange of views between the Mediterranean Partner Countries, the EU Member States, and the European Commission.

The ETF meetings are technical meetings which bring together high officials from the EU and MEDA countries. The ETF meetings are organised by the European Commission who acts as secretariat for the Forum. Attendance is by invitation only.

Participants include officially-designated government representatives from:

• the MEDA-10 countries;
• the EU-25 Member States;
• the European Commission.

Issues discussed include:

• decision-making on the activities of the Forum;
• follow-up of the activities of the Forum Working Groups;
• review of progress of the Euromed Transport Project;
• status of other ongoing activities and projects.
  

Before the start of the Euromed Transport Project, three ETF meetings have been held since the creation of the Forum in 1998. Over the duration of the project (2003-2007) four ETF meetings have so far been carried out.

Meetings of the ETF are generally held once a year or as required by the Forum’s activities. Meetings last for one or two days.
