This section provides information on Events and Capacity Building activities organised by the EuroMed Transport Project through to 2007.

In the framework of the policy dialogue, which aims to establish and reinforce the exchange of ideas and experiences among MEDA transport sector decision-makers and with their EU counterparts, the EuroMed Transport Project organises conferences, policy workshops, seminars and technical meetings. During these events, participants are given the opportunity to present, debate and approve important documents and reports.
Training programmes and study tours are also organised by the Project, with the aim to improve the organisational and technical capacity of MEDA national administrations for carrying out policy reforms and implementing new infrastructure schemes. Training modules are built on case studies and reflect international best practice.
Events For Policy Dialogue:
Ministerial Conferences on Transport
enable EU and Mediterranean countries' Transport Ministers to define the main guidelines for improving transport in the MEDA region and to outline the future priorities. A first conference was held in Marrakesh, Morocco in December 2005.
EuroMed Transport Forums - (9 events)
are technical meetings, organised by the European Commission, which bring together high officials from the EU and MEDA countries.
Forum Working Groups - WG (15 events)
are technical meetings which bring together officials from EU and MEDA countries specialised in the sectors and issues at stake.
National Counterpart Team Meetings - NCT (5 events)
are project coordination meetings which bring together the National Coordinators and the National Counterpart Teams from the MEDA countries, as well as the other stakeholders in the project.
Workshops on the Mediterranean Transport Infrastructure Network - (3 events)
Events for Capacity Building:
A series of 9 Training Seminars and 7 Study Tours have been organised by the EuroMed Transport Project for MEDA country officials. The aim of these activities is to reinforce the capacity of local staff in each country engaged in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of infrastructure investment, in specific infrastructure management matters and on issues relating to transport policy and transport sector reform.

Project participants are committed to sharing information and exchanging knowledge with other players in the global transport sector
Events with Private Sector
