Impact Assessment
OBJECTIVE
The objectives of the Impact Assessment are:
To demonstrate, when implemented, the Benefits and Impacts of the Common Aviation Area on the Air Transport Sector and on the economical and social development of the Region To secure the support and the endorsement of the High Level Decision Makers to the Concept of the Common Aviation Area
METHODOLOGY
The same methodology than the one for the Road Map was used with the participation of the Mediterranean Countries and the International Organisations (ACAC, EASA, ECAC and ICAO)
Four Short Term Experts (STE) were appointed to develop the Impact Assessment under the supervision of the Project Leader:

Start of the Impact Assessment (IA) works after the validation of the scenario of the Road Map during the Cairo workshop
June/July 2009
Consultation of the Countries on their staff costs so as to assess the actions of the Road Map
First draft of the Impact Assessment sent for review and comments by the Countries and the International Organisations
October 2009
Presentation and review of the IA during the 2nd Road Map workshop
November 2009
Release of the second draft of the IA
Presentation of the IA draft during the 3rd Advisory Group meeting
January 2010
Release of the final Impact Assessment
