Transport Demand
A major aim of the Infrastructure Contract was to carry out pre-feasability or feasibility studies of proposed projects. Those studies require forecasts of the future demand for transport. Forecasts must be on a consistent basis for all MEDA countries.
We distinguish between 'source data' and our demand model.
Source data is whatever data was available to the Infrastructure Contract. That data was homogenised to a consistent level of detail, the input data to which the MTIN demand models were fitted. In some areas there may be more detail in the source data than in the model data, but the demand model data is as consistent as possible across all MEDA countries. The MTIN models forecast future transport demand for 3 geo-political scenarios.
Go to:
- Base year demand and forecasts for future forecast flows or for consistent information across all MEDA countries and their international transport flows
- Source data for possibly more detailed data from national and international sources
